I read about your error problem on deviantart and did a quick search. See if the reply I posted to your journal entry helps with that. As for the scripts, I don't know much about that. I think RPGMaker runs on Ruby Script, though.

I was able to figure out a trick in Gimp. There is a grid render filter plug in for it. (Filters>Render>Pattern>Grid) If you set the spacing to % and use a calculator to figure out the percentage for the desired grid size, you might be able to achieve some results for a bridge. I was going to suggest drawing them by hand and coloring them on graphing paper. The grid could be used as a reference to pixels, giving you an idea how they'd translate.
